Welcome to my teaching web site!

With my heart, spirit, and soul, I AM A TEACHER and a student forever.

Education is one of the greatest keys of life. Communication, honesty, patience, perseverance, growth, DEDICATION, ability, love, talent, help, inquisitiveness, JOY, stress, frustration, giving, learning, fascination, sharing... are all part of education.

I am one of those 24-hour-per-day-7-days-per-week teachers. I love my students and truly want the best for each and every one of them. Having been reared amongst educators, I know the importance of working cooperatively with the students, their families, administration, and all of my fellow staff members.

As an anthropologist and an educator, I have taught all age levels in Africa, Asia, Australia, Central America, Europe, India, Jamaica, North America, and South America. In every case, I was enriched by my experience with the people and their culture, just as the children and adults with whom I worked grew through their studies with me. I lived as a part of the culture of the host country, following the customs and practices of the land at all times. We all learned a great deal from each other.

I received my Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Spanish and Anthropology with a Minor in Psychology. Later I earned my Bachelor of Education and am certified in: Special Education, Elementary Education, Health and Physical Education, and English as a Second Language (ESL). To date, I have accumulated over 100 credit hours in Education above my BA. I am a team player, and am a very reliable, dependable, and hard-working teacher.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call me. I look forward to hearing from you.

In China, I was honored to be the very first foreign teacher to ever visit and teach at the school. Students at this school spent two hours before I arrived decorating a bulletin board to to welcome me to their class.

This is my classroom in South Korea with two of my great students. Can you guess which one is me? Ancella, 32 years old, in the middle, was a great friend of mine. We did a lot of hiking and bicycling together.

The highlight for me was when she invited me over and her mother taught me how to make Kimchee, a daily eaten cabbage dish.

My very young students drew pictures of me (in the background)..Ms. D.B.

I happen to LOVE cooking and I am a great cook. Here is one of my students in Mexico enjoying a home-cooked meal of frijoles, arroz, y tacos.  Yummy!
